Your School will try to
Create a safe, friendly, happy and caring atmosphere with a focus
on learning
Ensure that children achieve their full potential as valued members of the school community
Provide a balanced education; cater for special needs and set homework according to
the school's policies
Achieve high standards of work and behaviour through building good relationships and
developing a sense of responsibility
Keep parents informed, through prompt and regular communication, about curriculum
matters, school activities and individual progress
Contact parents to discuss any particular concerns regarding work or behaviour
Children will try to
Be kind and helpful and not hurt anybody
ʼs feelingsBe honest and not to cover up the truth
Work hard and not waste our own or other
ʼs timeLook after property and not waste or damage things
Listen and not interrupt
Family will try to
Encourage regular punctual attendance and inform school promptly of absences, help
children to do their best with their homework
Support school policies for example on anti-bullying
Ask for clarification, help and support from school where necessary
Keep school informed of any issues, which might affect child's work or behaviour
Help school to protect and care for children's physical and emotional well being, for example,
by collecting child promptly, by respecting school rules on safety such as parking arrangements
Help children to understand and fulfil their part in this agreement

Create a good environment in which to learn
Oppose intolerance and encourage mutual respect and understanding
Value the contributions of all adults and children involved in school life
Help all at Westways to enjoy school and have fun!
